Almost done with my fifth book of the series

I started writing my fifth book with a general idea on where I was going with it. I was quite surprised with the twists and turns that came out of nowhere. Now that I am 60k words into it, I can say it has taken form. I introduce new characters, villains, and dragons. A lot of them!

I am taking a break from writing as I head to my family reunion, and hope to finish it when I come back. Then I'll let it sit for at least a month before I start the editing process. 

If things go right, I will be starting a new series, based off of my Sleeping Dragon novel. I am thinking of "The Chronicles of Kristopher Knight," who will be a space and time jumper, like Dr. Who or something of that nature. I am still in the beginning stages of thinking about it.

Starting the 5th book of my series

I realized, talking with my sister, that my fourth book, "Freedom," doesn't have a happy ending. 

And I just sent this to my mother, who read my first three books in 6 days, and she won't be happy. 

So, I am getting my head wrapped around writing a fifth book. I have some general ideas, but nothing concrete at this point. 

I don't outline, but am more of an intuitive writer. I usually have no clue where I'm going when I begin a story, except for a general idea of the direction. And if the story starts to get boring, I take a turn. I don't like reading or writing boring novels.

Announcing the new book release of Freedom

Done! 

I finally felt like this book was ready to go and pressed "Publish" on Amazon KDP. 

Freedom is the fourth book of my series, "Return of the Dragon Riders."

Description:

Freedom is all about saving the children. Kalon and Ariel find themselves at a loss for how to recover the children stolen from a galactic race. Frank’s daughters are still missing, but they keep running secret missions to learn their whereabouts. 

Kalon is captured on one of his missions, betrayed by another. Kalon needs to convince the admiral to help save the children and rescue them from their impending fate. Their sun will explode in days. Everyone is relying on him, but the admiral has other plans.

This story is intriguing, with twists and turns to keep you turning the page, with action, magic, mild romance, and dragons. 

Fourth book of my series coming out soon

I've been finalizing the editing of book 4 of the Return of the Dragon Riders series and hope to release it this month.

It's Spring and our lilies and tulips have already come and gone. I took a picture of our wisteria tree last week, enclosed by our arbor.

With the weather getting warmer, I am enjoying sitting on my back patio and writing. I captured a picture of a fountain I built a few years ago to add a little peace and serenity. I don't get out and enjoy it as much as I would like, but when the weather permits, I love this little space.  

I'll post when my book is ready to publish.

Announcing the new book release of Sleeping Dragon.

 

I finally finished my novel! 

Sleeping Dragon is a Historical Fantasy novel set in Medieval Ireland. Last month, I went to Ireland to capture the final details. (see previous post.)

I started this last year when I attended a writer's workshop. It is now available on Amazon. 

I am offering the Kindle version of Sleeping Dragon for free from May 22nd to May 26th.

Hopefully, you will like this story. It is my first historical fantasy novel. I learned so much about Ireland in researching the events surrounding the time period.

Ireland trip for researching the area for my new book.

We got back from Ireland a few weeks ago. The country was beautiful. There were several places I wanted to research for my new book. We first visited Newgrange to get a feel for the ancient monuments. The first was the Knowth mound, which we couldn't go inside.

The second was Newgrange, where we were able to go into the inner chamber, but couldn't take any pictures inside. The front stone had many spirals. The triple spiral was also found in the inner chamber.

We traveled to the Cliffs of Moher with gale winds and rain. 

And saw many castles. This is Cahir Castle.

   

We stayed for a few days in Cork, Ireland. The city was built over the water channels where ships used to come into the city. We were told this bar sat on the water where the arch was a waterway for boats.

We took a boat ride along the River Lee to see some of the ancient sites. This is Blackrock Castle with an observatory on top.

But most of our stay was in Killarney at Lough Leane, where my story takes place. We stayed at the Lake Hotel overlooking the ruins of Castlelough. 

The castle ruins were lit up at night.

Down the road was the Muckross Abbey which was built by the MacCartheys in the 1300s.

This was our first time going to Ireland, and there was so much more to see. 

When we returned, I started revising my book, a historical fantasy novel set in Medieval Ireland. I am putting in the final touches and hope to publish it soon. Below is a list of my other books.
